Woman From Dallas Spurs Into Action When She Sees A Familiar Face On Shelter’s Euthanasia List

Woman From Dallas Spurs Into Action When She Sees A Familiar Face On Shelter’s Euthanasia List

A couple of days ago, I came across an extraordinary video that I simply must share with you today.

It belongs to Whitney Fang, a compassionate animal lover from Dallas and founder of Hearts & Bones Rescue, an amazing non-profit foster-based rescue stationed in both Dallas and New York City.

Posted on her TikTok profile, the video is about a dog named Glinda, who became a part of Whitney’s life through sheer luck – and what I can only describe as fate.

While scrolling through her local shelter’s euthanasia list, Whitney’s eyes landed on a face that looked oddly familiar. At that moment, her heart skipped a beat!

Staring back at her through the screen, with a gray muzzle and black and brown fur, was Glinda – a spitting image of Luna, Whitney’s previous dog who sadly passed away.

Luna was Whitney’s ‘heart dog,’ the first pup she truly loved and whose life inspired her to start rescuing dogs over a decade ago.

Seeing Glinda’s sad face on the list – and taking it as a sign from above – Whitney knew she had to act. She immediately set out for the Dallas shelter to save this good girl from euthanasia.

Upon visiting Glinda in her kennel, Whitney noticed that the dog was very shy and nervous about her new visitor.

However, after a few minutes, Glinda calmed down and quickly warmed up to Whitney. They were an instant match!

Describing their first meeting in a TikTok video, Whitney wrote:

“I knew immediately that she was coming to my house.”

And that’s exactly what happened! Filled with excitement, Whitney decided to foster Glinda and transform her life in the best way possible.

Before bringing Glinda home, they first had to address several health concerns, which, along with shelter overcrowding, had put her on the euthanasia list.

She was a bit sick, had masses all over her body, and suffered complications in her mammary area, likely due to overbreeding.

After scheduling and completing surgery, which Glinda endured like a true champ, she was in Whitney’s home, recovering.

Whitey did her best to help Glinda see that life wasn’t at all as bad as she had grown to believe.

She attended to her every need, cared for her well-being, and showered her with the love this special girl needed and deserved – all in the loving memory of Luna.

Whitney documented everything on video, posting it on TikTok where it reached many animal-loving people who applauded her decision to rescue Glinda.

Here’s the video for you to see for yourself:

I met a dog this weekend on the euthanasia list that reminded me of my heart dog, Luna. Luna was the reason why I started doing rescue over a dozen years ago. Meet Glinda, a mama dog who found herself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space as well as clear medical issues in her mammary area, likely due to overbreeding. She is a medium-sized, gray-muzzled, shy, black with brown speckles kind of dog. Well, I knew immediately that she was coming to my house. She got the surgery she needed to remove multiple masses, and is now safe at home with me recovering. She tinkles when she sees me so I know we are going to have a good time here! I can’t wait to share her journey with you guys. Under Whitney’s caring wind, Glinda soon made a full recovery. The only thing left was to find her a forever home with someone who would love this good girl the right way.

Whitney shared on her TikTok that her dear foster is available for adoption, and I hope she soon finds the perfect family.

I’m sure Luna is watching from somewhere above, proud of her mom and all the incredible work she’s doing.
