When these two adorable dogs were born, no one believed they would survive. But the two brave furry boys defied all odds, chose to live, and proved to everyone they, too, deserve to be loved.
Meet Picasso and his brother from another mother, Newt. Even though they were born into different litters, they share similar stories and unique features that brought them together and made them best friends.
Picasso was born with a crooked nose, while Newt lost his upper jaw after being bitten by his mother when he was just a puppy.
Due to their severe facial deformities, these two adorable pups were often overlooked until they found their forever human.
Liesl Wilhardt, founder and director of Lovable Dog Rescue in Oregon, adopted Picasso. Three years later, she came across Newt and welcomed him into her loving home.
Thanks to Liesl, Newt and Picasso became inseparable. Despite facing challenges due to their malformations, they are living happy lives, thanks to a woman who gave them a new chance at life.
Now, they’re enjoying life just like any other dog. Both Newt and Picasso are very friendly and playful.
They love long walks, playtime, and even picking berries. Both dogs are highly social, love meeting new people, and being the center of attention.
While many people often look at Newt and Picasso in surprise, Liesl always explains that they deserve to be loved despite being a little different from other dogs.
What’s most important is that Picasso and Newt defied all odds and showed everyone that they can love just as deeply as a dog without any deformities.
Fortunately, they were in the right place at the right time and were adopted by a kind-hearted woman who never gave up on them. She said in an interview:
“They have learned to live with their physical limits and can accomplish practically anything they desire. I really like Picasso and Newt; they are both wonderfully affectionate, cheerful, intelligent and fun dogs.”
Despite everything they had been through, Picasso and Newt are finally living their best lives, just as they always deserved.
