The sweet dog from today’s story was spotted wandering the streets of a small town, depending on kind people for some food.
A local rescue organization was informed and thinking this pregnant stray dog needed urgent care, they rushed to save the poor soul.
However, once they arrived they met a woman who had been feeding the stray dog for almost two years.
What she told them, left the rescuers in pure shock. The dog’s name was Bangwool and he was a boy!
This meant the poor soul was severely sick and not pregnant at all! The woman remembers the day she started feeding Bangwool.
She was walking her dog on what seemed to be an ordinary day when Bangwool decided to tag along. She was surprised by his sweet nature and from that day on he would always join them for a walk.
Unable to officially adopt him, the woman made sure he was well-fed every day. His belly started swelling recently and it concerned the entire neighborhood.
However, the unusual thing she noticed was that after his meal, Bangwool would disappear almost instantly.
Curios about where he was going, the rescuers decided to follow him one day. What they discovered was more than soul-crushing.
After his dinner, Bangwool would walk to a different neighborhood miles away. There he would sneak into the front yard of an abandoned house and sit in front of the door.
The rescuers decided to ask around about who was living in the house and the truth brought tears to their eyes.
Exactly two years ago, the owner of the house passed away leaving his dog Bangwool alone. With no relatives to take Bangwool in, he was left to fend for himself on the streets.
The poor soul was still waiting for his owner to this day, unable to understand he was not coming back for him.
Once the rescuers learned his sad secret, they decided to rescue him the next morning. With the help of the woman who was feeding poor Bangwool, they managed to lure him into a trap.
A short trip later, Bangwool found himself in the emergency vet clinic. What caused his giant swollen belly was a heart disease.
A heartworm caused excessive water in his belly, but luckily a treatment was possible. The vet drained the water from his belly and left Bangwool in his clinic for observation.
A week later something truly amazing happened. The woman who used to feed Bangwool decided to officially adopt him.
She believed her family was chosen by Bangwool after his owner passed away and she couldn’t bear the thought of him living on the streets again.
With some heart medication, he would be able to lead a happy and normal life with his new family!
