“She had been missing for six days.”
We all know how hot it can get down in LA, but can you imagine a poor pup lying on a concrete floor, waiting for her owner?
Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 (an organization that helps abandoned animals and animals in need) received a call the other day about a dirty white dog living in a parking lot. She was the perfect person for this mission.
Suzette rushed to the scene, but the dog wouldn’t budge from her spot.
Two other volunteers joined her in the parking lot and were heartbroken to see the poor dog lying in the same spot where the callers had found her. As Suzette wrote on Facebook:
“When I got there, she was sleeping through the pain. Laying there so bravely.”
No one knew what this poor dog had been through or how long she had been living in that parking lot. Still, they didn’t waste another second. They placed gates around her area and tried to close in on her.
The dog was scared and limped into the busy street, trying to escape her rescuers. But Suzette’s kindness eventually won her over:
“I calmly talked to her and I was able to get a leash around her neck. She was so sweet and so happy to have gotten help.”
She picked the dog up and took her to Camino Pet Hospital, where the vets thoroughly examined her and concluded that she had been in a car accident, which explained the broken leg. Her eyes were full of sadness…
The vets cleaned the dog up, put a cast on her leg, and then everyone began searching for her family. Soon enough, Suzette tracked down the dog’s owner and learned all about their story:
“She had been missing for six days.”
The dog, named Maisie, had wandered off and couldn’t find her way back home. After the accident, she settled in a quiet spot in the parking lot, waiting to be found and rescued.
Her owner couldn’t contain her happiness when she got the call. Her beloved puppy was safe and sound after being missing for almost a week!
She immediately rushed to the hospital, and Suzette nearly shed a tear watching their reunion, especially seeing Maisie’s reaction:
“Sweet baby girl was so happy to see her mommy, and her mommy was so happy to see her. Such an incredible, beautiful reunion.”
Maisie’s tail was wagging so fast, I thought she might take off! Her mommy hugged her tightly while Maisie showered her with kisses. She was overjoyed and relieved to finally be in her owner’s arms again. Watch their heartwarming reunion:
Maisie’s owner carried her out to the car, along with all the medical supplies needed for her swift recovery. Soon she’ll be out of her cast and back to her old loving, playful self.
Suzette was deeply touched, with tears of happiness running down her cheeks. She’ll always remember their beautiful reunion and cherish the memory of how she and her team made it possible.
Thanks to them, Maisie was saved and reunited with her family. Share their story to inspire others to always stop and help animals in need. Not only do you help them, but it also feels so rewarding!
