Man Stops His Car Only To Hear His Engine ‘Meowing’ Sparking A Dramatic Rescue

Sharing is caring!

The award for the most curious animal in the world should definitely go to our lovely feline companions.

Cats are known for their adventurous and curious natures, but sometimes this leads them into life-threatening situations.

Such is the story of Tinsel, a cat who ended up 100 miles from home just because of her nosy nature.

The man from today’s story had no idea he had a stowaway on board when he got into his car. He was about to meet his family on what seemed to be a perfectly normal day.

His family lived in a city approximately 100 miles away, so he turned on his car and set off.

Once he arrived and parked his car in front of a store, a passerby pointed out that his car was ‘meowing’. Confused, he opened the hood of his car and to his surprise, a pair of round eyes gazed right back at him.

An adorable cat found refuge in his engine and had no idea she just moved to a different city! Luckily, the people at the parking lot scooped her up before she got a chance to run away.

A local animal rescue organization was informed, and they immediately came to pick up little Tinsel. Unfortunately, the man only wanted the cat out of his car, and before the shelter could ask him more questions, he was already gone.

With no microchip, the shelter had difficulty finding Tinsel’s owner. She was a healthy and socialized cat, which only meant she was a spoiled and happy house cat. As they posted on Facebook:

“In spite of all the publicity this little cat has had – press, television, radio, hundreds of people scouring missing cat sites – her owner has not been found.”

However, the shelter volunteers did not give up. They regularly posted about Tinsel, hoping her family would come across her picture online.

Just when they were about to give up and find Tinsel a new home, they received an email from a woman claiming it was her cat.

She even sent them a few pictures of her, proving Tinsel was indeed her cat. As the shelter said in an update:

“Her owner had been searching for her but not everyone has access to social media and she was not aware of the massive campaign to find Tinsel’s owner until a relative told her she had seen her on a Found post. She was absolutely delighted that her cat was safe as she and her other two cats had been missing her.”

Thanks to the dedicated shelter team who never gave up in the search for her home, adorable Tinsel was reunited with her mom after having the adventure of her lifetime!
