Man Saves A Wild Coyote And Instead Of Running Away She Decides To Stay

A man came across a coyote while walking through the woods, and it was clear she needed help. When he first approached her, the coyote looked fierce. She was visibly scared and defensive, but she didn’t act aggressively or attack the man.

She was still wary of him and quite defensive. Any sudden movement the man made caused her to react with fear and aggression. The man realized he needed to take it slow, but he wasn’t giving up on her!

He decided to leave her some food and water at a safe distance and then backed away so she could feel safe enough to eat and approach the food at her own pace.

Their unexpected encounter will soon turn into something much more than just a coincidence…

After eating some food and drinking clean water, this little coyote girl calmed down. It seemed she started trusting the kind man who came to her rescue. He even managed to pet her on the head, trying to calm her down.

Realizing the coyote needed more than just food and water, he decided to take her to a vet. This was a challenging decision since she was still a wild animal and highly alert. At the vet, she remained on edge, ready to defend herself if necessary.

After all, she is still a wild animal and it’s natural for her to be alert and ready to defend herself at any moment.

Despite her fears, she stayed calm during the check-up and treatment, perhaps her rescuer’s presence helped her.

After receiving medical care and having more food and water, the coyote began to show signs of recovery. The man thought it best to release her back into the wild once she was ready. But this coyote had other plans.

She formed an unexpected bond with her rescuer, deciding to return to his home instead of wandering off into the woods. She paid him a visit that turned into a stay.

Over time, this “wild” coyote, affectionately named Weave, settled into a unique routine. She wasn’t domesticated in the usual sense, but she started to “tolerate” her new human friend and his dog.

As the man shared on TikTok, Weave became very wary of strangers but felt safe around familiar faces:

“She is not domesticated by any means, she just tolerates me and my boys. She’s very big on stranger danger. Me and my boys all drive a Toyota, and you see a Toyota pulls in the driveway that’s fine, see anybody else you won’t see her. She hides. She’s terrified by other vehicles.”

The man described how Weave navigates her new life:

“She does her own thing, runs around, plays around, catches mice. She is allowed in the house every once in a while… stormy, she gets scared of other coyotes, other animals. Her best friend is my cat, I mean, they get along great.”

Weave’s story is one of survival and adaptability. She was the sole survivor among her siblings after their mother’s tragic passing.

She managed to survive, and later on adapt to a whole new life. Weave was too young to fend for herself, but luckily this kind man offered her a helping hand.

Thanks to him, Weave got a new chance and now lives a life filled with love, play, and cuddles. Above all she has a hooman friend and two unlikely furry friends to share her joy with!

Though she retained her wild instincts, she developed a unique bond with her new household. Little by little, this sweet girl named Weave showed she was there to stay.

Just take a look at this furry best friend trio:

Weave the coyote transformed from a frightened and wild animal into a cherished member of the family. Although she remains cautious around strangers and other animals, she found a sense of belonging with her rescuer and his pets.
