Long Island Woman Realizes The Gray Mass She Found On The Street Is An Injured Animal

It was just another ordinary day for animal rescuer Karenlynn Stracher on Long Island until she got a heartbreaking call.

Someone had spotted a young seagull struggling to walk in a parking lot by the beach, and it looked like it was really hurt.

Since she has extensive experience, Karenlynn realized that this was a serious situation, so she quickly went to help.

When she arrived, her heart dropped at the sight of the seagull. The little bird, still a fledgling, was clearly suffering. Its feathers were messy and its movements were slow.

So, Karenlynn approached carefully, not knowing what could be wrong. As she got closer, she noticed something surprising. The seagull was trying to use both of its wings, even though it was having a tough time.

At that moment, a small spark of hope lit up inside Karenlynn, because maybe the injury wasn’t as bad as she first thought. As she shared on TikTok:

“I see some asymmetry. But this may not be as bad as I initially thought.”

With gentle hands, she picked up the injured seagull and placed it in a net. Her heart felt heavy knowing this was yet another young animal that needed her help. She added:

“Another baby. I hate when this happens to the babies.”

As she looked at the seagull’s wing, Karenlynn felt relief. The injury was painful, but it wasn’t as serious as she had expected.

So, she decided to take the seagull to Sweetbriar Nature Center for more care. Now safe and in the hands of skilled professionals, the young seagull had a chance to recover.

With the right treatment and rehabilitation, it could be flying high again, and I truly wish that happens soon!
