When this group of golfers in Garland, Texas, arrived at the golf course, they had no idea what series of events would unfold later.
Their day began pleasantly, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, peaceful surroundings, and a lot of competitive spirit.
However, just as the golfers started their game, they were interrupted by a truly heartbreaking sight, turning their day into a chaotic rescue mission.
When the group of golfers arrived at Garland’s Firewheel Golf Course, they eagerly began preparing for the exciting game. But their plans changed the moment they spotted a stranded dog on the outskirts of nearby Rowlett Creek.
The poor dog was in great danger; he was surrounded by water and a rock wall, with no way to get out and return to safety.
The golfers couldn’t ignore him, so they immediately called Garland Animal Services (GAS), who quickly arrived at the scene, accompanied by the Garland Fire Department (GFD).
Both rescue groups were determined to save the helpless dog, but he was out of reach. GFD shared a video of the rescue on Facebook, saying:
“Rescue 8 was called out to help Animal Control reach a dog who appeared to be stranded on the bank of the creek at Fire Wheel Golf Rescue.”
One of the brave firefighters crossed the creek and finally reached the dog, who was patiently waiting for help. The firefighter gently scooped him into his arms and carried him to safety.
To everyone’s surprise, the dog had a family. He was wearing a collar with his human mom’s contact information.
The rescuers immediately contacted Joan Landry, the lost dog’s owner, who was relieved to hear that her beloved dog had been found. After speaking with Joan, they learned the full story.
Joan explained that her beloved dog, Bubba, had escaped a few days earlier through an open gate.
The whole family, including the neighbors, had been searching for him everywhere for more than two days, but sadly, Bubba was nowhere to be found.
Just as Joan began losing hope, she received a call from Garland Animal Service. She was overwhelmed with happiness, knowing her dog was safe and would soon be home.
When she learned where Bubba had been found, she was in disbelief – Bubba was always afraid of water, and no one imagined he’d end up near a creek.
In the end, what mattered the most was that Bubba was rescued, brought to safety, and reunited with his favorite human.
