Seeing different types of fish through the ocean’s surface is one of the most beautiful experiences. However, only the lucky ones get to witness the captivating sight of a whale’s tail breaking through the surface.
In this story, the situation took an unexpected turn. When a group of fishermen spotted a whale in the middle of the ocean, they quickly realized that the real luck was on the whale’s side, and you’ll never guess why.
A group of fishermen sailing through the ocean were initially amazed when they saw a magnificent whale. But, within seconds, they realized something was wrong.
Upon closer inspection, the fishermen noticed that the whale was thrashing her tail, trying to free herself from a heavy black net that had entangled it. Despite her efforts, the whale couldn’t free herself.

Although rescuing a whale is no easy task, the specialized team knew exactly what to do.
They began by controlling and monitoring the area where the whale was last seen. With the help of various organizations, they searched for hours until they finally located her near the beach.
Once they located her, the team worked together to untangle the whale without injuring her. Despite their efforts, the rescue mission seemed to be failing.
Just when they began losing hope, one team member managed to grab hold of the knot and swiftly removed it from the whale’s body.
With the net finally removed, the whale surged into the water and swam into the depths of the ocean.
The rescue teams felt immense relief, knowing the whale was safe for now. Arnold Alexander, the director of CODECHOCO, shared on their website:
“It is very regrettable that the use of these fishing gears that are unfriendly to our natural resources is becoming the main threat to marine species such as the humpback whale, dolphins, turtles, and whale sharks, species that play an important role in our ecosystems.”
This distressing event with a happy ending prompted environmental authorities to remind people of the dangers posed by nets in the ocean.
They advise alerting coast guards and local authorities if an aquatic animal is in distress and urge fishermen to avoid using potentially harmful equipment to protect local wildlife.
Thankfully, this whale in distress was in the right place at the right time, and what could have been just a captivating sight turned into a challenging but successful rescue mission.
