In the sea of sad and cruel stories I encounter about animals, it’s so refreshing to watch something hilarious our feathered or furry friends do sometimes.
Whether it’s about the bear who stole a camera or a quacking showdown between a man and a duck, our wild friends surely put a smile on my face.
Today’s story is somewhat similar and I had to share it with you. Recently I stumbled upon a hilarious video that made me laugh out loud, so buckle up to hear all about it.
In a small city of Silverdale, Washington police officers were informed about a fugitive running down a highway, leaving the residents in shock.
The police station in Silverdale immediately sent out two police officers to investigate and bring order to the usually very serene city.
However, the officers had no idea just what was happening miles away. Upon arrival, they realized that the fugitive wouldn’t be an easy catch, so they called for backup.
Now, you might be wondering who was the scary fugitive that made the police officers call for backup.
It was an emu! Yes, you read that right, an emu! How the poor soul ended up on the busy highway was uncertain, but it sure made the police officers laugh.
They reached out to their local animal rescue organization, Kitsap Humane Society. The police officers managed to block the highway, while the rescuers captured the feathered fugitive.
Luckily, the emu named Elliot had no injuries and seemed to be in perfect health. The rescuers posted about him on all social media platforms, hoping Elliot’s owner would come to bring him home.
After no one claimed Elliot, they decided to move him to a different shelter. The shelter in question was in Quilcene, a small town with a huge ranch for rescued animals.
Hopefully, Elliot won’t become the most wanted fugitive ever again, LOL!
