Good Girl Makes Heartbreaking Hospital Visit To Bid Final Farewell To Her Beloved Owner

Sharing is caring!

Grab a tissue because this story is a tearjerker. A couple of nights ago, as I scrolled through my phone, I stumbled upon a story that literally broke my heart.

It involved a dog named Mollie, the goodest girl of them all, bidding her last farewell to her beloved owner in a hospital bed.

To say that my eyes were swollen from crying the next day would be an understatement. Here’s the story!

Mollie’s owner, 33-year-old Californian Ryan Jessen, was hospitalized due to a brain hemorrhage, a severe condition caused by an artery bursting in the brain.

Despite prompt medical treatment, his condition remained critical, leaving his friends and family heartbroken.

Learning that Ryan might never awaken from his coma, his sister Michelle requested a special favor from the hospital staff – to allow his best friend, Mollie, to visit him one last time.

To their surprise, the hospital staff agreed, understanding just how much Mollie meant to Ryan. Michelle shared the heartwarming news on her Facebook, writing:

“The hospital did the cutest thing for us and allowed to bring my brother’s dog in to ‘say goodbye’ so she’d know why her human never came back home.”

Michelle also posted a video of Mollie’s poignant farewell with her beloved Ryan. Intended initially for friends and family, the video quickly captured the hearts of viewers worldwide.

In the video, Mollie appears confused, sniffing Ryan intently as he lies surrounded by medical equipment as if trying to understand why her owner won’t wake up.

The most heartrending moment is when she rests her head beside the bed, her gaze filled with sorrow and loss.

With furrowed brows and eyes brimming with sadness, Mollie’s expression reflects her worry about a future without her owner.

Sadly, Ryan passed away before the video was posted. However, his passing wasn’t in vain.

As an organ donor, Ryan’s heart was given to a 17-year-old boy in California. Hopefully, this gift will inspire a love for animals in the boy, just as Ryan loved them, perhaps even leading to him adopting a dog of his own.

As for Mollie, her future is secure. Michelle has decided to keep her to honor her brother’s memory. She reassured everyone by writing:

“Don’t worry about the dog! We’re keeping her, because she’s part of the family.”

Despite the sadness, it’s comforting to know this story has a bittersweet ending. Mollie surely misses Ryan deeply, but he is certainly watching over her from above…
