When Ricardo and Brian were home hunting, they fell in love with a gorgeous house on top of a hill.
The house had a pool and a National Forest right behind the backyard! Who wouldn’t want to live there, am I right?
However, the realtor warned them about the area’s high bear activity. Brian and his partner Ricardo didn’t think much of it and decided to purchase the house! Little did they know, they inherited some wild tenants…
In the first month of living in their new home, the first visitor from the forest came to say hello. As the couple shared in their video:
“We’re the first house from the National Forest, so we’re the first house they would visit on their way down.”
The couple soon learned the dos and don’ts when it comes to having bears around. They make sure to always keep their door and windows closed, in case the bears come around.
The highlight of the house for the bears is the pool filled with floaties. Believe it or not, these majestic giants go for a swim every time they show up in their backyard!
They even learned how to use the floaties! They would lounge or play around, and after a good swim, they would hop out and go on their way.
Brian and Ricardo had no idea their new home would be so interesting! They make sure to always capture it all on camera and this is how they learned who their most frequent visitor was.
They named her Maddie Bear, and she was the biggest fan of the pool. She would even take naps while floating around on a floatie!
After a couple of weeks, Maddie Bear brought her cubs over to meet Ricardo and Brian. She even came close to the glass door while the couple was mesmerized by their cuteness.
This is how their backyard became a daycare for Maddie Bear and her cubs! She would bring them over, and while she was swimming and chilling in the pool her cubs would play around with balls!
Although it was a scary experience having all these bears around at first, Ricardo and Brian are happy to have the chance to coexist with nature in such a unique way.
Make sure to follow them over on Instagram, where Ricardo and Brian regularly post the bear activity in their backyard!
Would you dare live in this house?
