This feline has become an internet sensation after losing 10 pounds in just four months. His owner began documenting his weight loss journey and just like that, Axel aka ‘Biggie Smalls’ gained tons of fans.
His owner says they call him ‘Biggie Smalls’ because now “he’s Biggie, but soon he’s gonna be Smalls!”
He was rescued a few months ago, and Kristine Segui, his owner and devoted pawrent, did everything she could to help Axel adjust and begin his new diet. According to Kristine, their main goal is not just weight loss, but ‘being a cat.’
It’s about helping Axel live a full and active life as a cat. She wants him to be able to jump, run, and play just like any other cat.
They’ve been doing exercises and following a ‘special diet’ for a few months now. Ever since Kristine posted their first TikTok, people have fallen head over heels for Axel.
Kristine captioned their first video: ‘Meet Axel aka Biggie Smalls. He was surrendered to a local shelter this week at a whopping 43 lbs.’

Kristine just wants her beloved cat to enjoy life to the fullest – and who doesn’t? I completely support her and wish Axel many happy and healthy years ahead. As she says in one of her videos:
“He’s only seven years old, he still has a lot of time left in his life, and we want to make sure he gets to enjoy that.”
Not long after their first video went viral, Kristine posted another one saying: ‘He may be a thicc boy now but this beautiful dude is on his way to a much better life.’
Kristine’s support and faith in Axel are crucial to his journey. The way she believes in him, encourages him to keep going, and makes his diet and exercise fun shows just how much she loves him.

Recently, Kristine posted an update highlighting Axel’s progress – he’s lost about 10 pounds and Kristine is extremely proud! She wrote:

“I fostered hundreds of cats and he’s just like a toddler. He’s one of mine now, so he’s part of our family.”
