He stayed by her side, stroking her gently, his voice a constant source of comfort. He believed that love could be the best medicine, and he wasn’t about to let her fight this battle alone, as he shared in a YouTube video:
“I just wanted her to feel safe, I wanted her to feel loved. I firmly believe that if they have somebody to comfort them I think that gives them a stronger will to live.”

“I think the best way to describe Zoe right now is a daddy’s girl she still loves to be held like a baby so she gets that daily.”

He knew he couldn’t let her go – Zoey had become more than just a rescue; she had become a part of his family.
So David decided to adopt Zoey, knowing that she felt the same, as he explained:
“Every bond that you form with the animals that come into the rescue is special but she and I just had this instant connection and I knew that I couldn’t let her go.”
