The biggest issue nowadays is that many families get pets for their children, and when they get bored, they abandon them on the streets as if they were mere trash. However, pets are not toys but living beings, who can’t survive without our help.
Such a tragedy followed this adorable puppy with a broken leg, who was cruelly abandoned with all his belongings. Fortunately, his luck turned around when a Good Samaritan stumbled upon him.
Hank, a beautiful 8-month-old puppy was once a part of a family, who was everything to him. Sadly, the feelings weren’t mutual, as his family cruelly abandoned him in the woods with all of his belongings; a bed, and some old toys.
While many people face challenges that make it difficult to care for their pets, abandoning them is never the right solution.
What was even worse was that Hank had a broken leg, which didn’t allow him to go much further from where he was abandoned. Still, he patiently waited for someone to notice him.
His luck changed when a Good Samaritan noticed him sitting motionless on his bed. The person instantly contacted the local animal shelter, Humans and Animals United, who rushed to the location and took Hank under their care.
Upon arrival at the shelter, they provided Hank with a thorough vet examination and shared an update on their Facebook page:
“Only a puppy at 8 months old yet has been through so much. His tail started wagging once he knew he was being taken into the veterinary hospital. We cannot imagine why anyone would dump him with a broken leg. Left him with his bed, toys, and food in the woods. Whoever you are, please know that Hank is now safe and will never ever be hurt again.”
What warmed everyone’s hearts was that Hank remained a lovely pup despite a traumatic experience he endured. Rosa Fond, the founder of Humans and Animals United, added:
“He was nothing but love from the moment they got him. Everybody says that he’s the sweetest dog.”
Sadly, Hank had to face many health issues and get ready for a long recovery. The vet results revealed his leg had been broken for over two weeks. Hank’s condition was so severe that the vets said his only chance to be pain-free was euthanasia.
The Humans and Animals United team refused to give up on him. They were determined to provide Hank with all the necessary help.
Initially, they focused on helping Hank regain strength and receive the necessary nutrients so he could undergo surgery to repair his broken leg. Meanwhile, vets and shelter staff showered him with love to boost his spirits.
After sharing his story online, many people were moved by Hank’s plight and donated money to cover his medical expenses, desperately wanting to give him a new chance at life.
Thanks to the vets and shelter’s unwavering dedication, as well as donations, Hank successfully underwent his first surgery.
As he began his recovery, he was underweight and required several meals a day to regain his strength. Through it all, Hank’s resilience shone brightly.
He didn’t let anyone or anything stop him from recovering and living his best life. Slowly but surely, his overall condition started to improve, making him ready for the next step – finding a forever home.
Now, Hank is in a loving foster home where he’s receiving the best care possible while getting ready for adoption and continuing to heal.
With his sweet nature, there’s no doubt Hank will soon find a forever home, but this time, it will truly be forever!
