Baby Kangaroo Finds Comfort In A Teddy Bear After Losing His Mom

Baby Kangaroo Finds Comfort In A Teddy Bear After Losing His Mom

Let me share a picture with you that is sure to warm anyone’s heart: a little kangaroo, not much bigger than a football, holding onto a well-loved teddy bear.

The joey, affectionately named Doodlebug, was discovered abandoned on a roadside.

At just a few months old, he had lost his mother, whether by accident or tragedy. We may never know the full story, but the image of this tiny joey, alone and defenseless in the vast wilderness, speaks volumes.

Luckily for Doodlebug, help arrived. Gillian Abbott, a wildlife rescuer with a huge heart, took him in. She saw that the little joey needed comfort and noticed something special about him.

Just like any child missing their mom, Doodlebug found comfort in a simple teddy bear. He would snuggle it, playfully kick it, and hold onto it tightly.

It looks like Doodlebug has found his own special way to deal with things, and it’s just so adorable! You can’t help but feel sorry for him since he’s just a little guy!

However, Gillian’s son, Tim, posted a picture of Doodlebug with his teddy bear online, and it became super viral. As he shared in an interview:

“We don’t know whether his mother had died either through a car accident or a dog attack, or whether he simply was abandoned.”

People all over the world immediately connected with the photo, because we all share similar emotions.

Seeing this little animal missing his mom and finding solace in a soft toy, reminds us that, no matter who we are, we all need love and friendship in our lives.

As of today, Doodlebug is getting a “soft release.” He can wander around the forest, but he still comes back to Gillian’s place for food.

And, of course, we can’t forget! He always comes back to snuggle with his favorite teddy. As Tim mentioned:

“My mum still sees him most days. She is thankful that this image is providing joy to so many people around the world.”
