If you’re anything like me, you know the best feeling in the world is snuggling up next to your feline friend after a long day.
Cats have been a part of our lives for centuries, and some cat breeds were specifically bred to be extra affectionate.
If you are looking for a new feline companion or want to see if your kitty is the affectionate kind, follow along as I introduce you to some of the most affectionate cat breeds.
1. Ragdoll
Ragdolls have the most gorgeous fur I’ve ever seen. They were bred to be affectionate lap kittens, and they are known for following their owners from room to room.
In addition, this cat breed gets along well with other pets and is perfect for families with children, as they are laid back and easy to care for!
2. Persian
Persian cats are fluffy couch potatoes who would choose to cuddle with you in bed over any other activity.
They have a very gentle temperament, and absolutely enjoy pets from their favorite humans!
3. Sphynx
The most famous hairless cat breed, the Sphynx, is a big cuddle bug. They enjoy spending time with their owners. Unlike the Persian, the Sphynx is a little bundle of energy.
However, snuggling with their humans is still their favorite activity and this is also a way for them to warm up since they don’t have fur!
4. Siamese
The Siamese is a social and very vocal cat breed. They love to explore and are extremely adventurous.
Spending time with their owners is important for them, as they thrive on affection and cuddles. And of course, lots of playtime!
5. Tonkinese
Temperament-wise, Tonkinese cats are similar to Siamese. They can be playful, but one thing sets them apart. They can read the vibe of the room very well!
If your Tonkinese cat senses that it’s time for chilling, they will gladly curl up in your lap and purr all your worries away!
6. Abyssinian
When it comes to Abyssinian cats, people usually refer to them as ‘dogs’ of the feline world. They are extremely playful, and intelligent, and they adore the outdoors.
Aside from all that, Abyssinian cats enjoy spending quality time with their owner, whether it’s playing fetch or cuddling on the sofa.
7. Scottish Fold
At first Scottish Fold cats have been bred specifically because of their unique appearance. However, it later turned out that the Scottish Fold is one of the most affectionate cat breeds ever.
This cat breed doesn’t like to be left alone at home for longer periods. They thrive on human company and will gladly snuggle up next to you at the end of the day.
8. Bombay
The Bombay cat is another extroverted and social cat who loves spending time around you and your friends.
Their owners praise them for being so people-oriented and affectionate towards everyone.
9. Birman
The Birman cat breed is one of the most adaptable cat breeds there is. They can easily adapt to any environment and any type of family.
This gorgeous fluffball enjoys nothing more than curling up in your lap and receiving those well-deserved cuddles.
