Abandoning pets is a never-ending issue, and it’s truly painful to see animals heartlessly left alone every day. However, when such a story has a happy ending, it surely brings a smile to everyone’s face.
One of those cruelly abandoned pets was an adorable dog later named Azalea. She was thrown out of a truck by her previous owner, but sadly, that wasn’t the only issue she was dealing with at the time.
When Azalea was tossed from the truck, she initially thought it was some kind of game, so she began running after it. However, the moment she realized she couldn’t catch up was truly heartbreaking.
Unfortunately, the situation worsened. As Azalea stood on the road, watching her owner drive away without her, she suddenly collapsed.
She tried to crawl, fighting hard, but she was too sick. Fortunately, a group of compassionate rescuers spotted her just in time and rushed to help.
Azalea had a huge belly, so the rescuers thought she was pregnant and suspected that might be the reason she was abandoned. They immediately rushed her to an animal clinic, only to discover that the pregnancy wasn’t the case.
The vets were shocked by Azalea’s condition. She was a skinny, malnourished pup with a swollen belly, indicating a serious underlying problem.
After a thorough examination, it was discovered that her stomach was full of liquid, likely due to improper liver function. She also had an infected open wound on her leg that made it difficult for her to walk.
Fortunately, Azalea was in the right place. The medical staff provided her with nutritious food and prepared her for a procedure to drain the fluid from her stomach.
The situation was so serious that the vets had to drain her stomach multiple times. By the time they were finished, they were shocked to realize they had drained more than a gallon of fluid from her belly.
The procedure went better than expected, and the medical staff continued nursing Azalea back to health. She was diagnosed with liver failure, so he had to use several different medications.
After almost a month at the animal clinic, Azalea was finally healthy and ready to leave, but she had nowhere to go.
That’s when her guardian angel steps in again. One of the rescuers who had found her on the road fell in love with Azalea and decided to adopt her.
Azalea arrived at her new home and instantly loved everything about it. She adjusted perfectly and had plenty of company, as her new human already had dogs at home.
Her loving new owner took excellent care of her, and things finally started to take a turn for the better.
When Azalea went to the vet for a check-up, the vets were amazed by her remarkable progress. It turned out her medications were working, allowing her liver to function normally.
In addition, Azalea completely blossomed in her new home, and she became a happy and lovely pup, always demanding attention from humans.
After everything she had been through, she deserves nothing less, and I couldn’t be happier for her.
