“Well, there really is nothing he can’t do.”
Nubby, a two-legged dog, has become an inspiring figure, proving that challenges can’t hold him back from living life to the fullest.
Born without front legs, Nubby’s future seemed uncertain. Many doubted his chances of survival, but he proved them all wrong.
Nubby thrived completely thanks to his adoptive family, who stepped in to provide care from day one.
Mark and Lou didn’t hesitate when they received a call about a Boxer who didn’t have front legs. Lou hung up the phone and said:
“I have to go pick up a Boxer, he doesn’t have any front legs.”
Mark simply replied, “Okay.” But once she came back home with the little puppy in her hands, they were both overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty.
The first few nights were difficult, they woke up almost every hour and went into the ICU, nearly losing him… But Nubby never gave up, and neither did they!
Lou and Mark were determined to help him live a normal life. They even built him a wheelchair out of Legos, and he just took off scooting across the floor.
This allowed Nubby the freedom to move and explore, further proving their belief that there were no limits to what he could do.
Despite his physical limitations, Nubby’s joyful spirit shone through. His playful and energetic nature captured the hearts of everyone who met him, showing that he was just like any other dog.
Nubby’s bond with his fellow pet siblings, especially Rita, emphasized his ability to form close relationships and embrace life to the fullest.
Nubby’s family was so inspired by him that they founded Warriors Educate About Rescue (W.E.A.R.). A nonprofit organization advocating for animals with special needs.
Through their work, they’ve raised awareness about animals like Nubby and demonstrated how much love they have to give.
But what’s truly heartwarming is Nubby’s role as a foster dad to several puppies.
Mark and Lou explained in the video:
“In Texas, there’s just not enough spay and neuter. It’s creating an overpopulation. We rescued a pregnant mom that was on the street and she gave birth. And now we have six puppies.”
Despite his physical challenges, Nubby offers protection, love, and guidance to the little ones, showing once again that his abilities far exceed what anyone expected.
Through social media and educational initiatives, Nubby continues to spread a message of compassion, resilience, and hope, inspiring countless others to see beyond physical limitations.
He reminds us all that even when everything seems hopeless, there is always something that can be done to make it better.
