“It was the craziest thing ever.”
Lane Dyer, from Oklahoma, never imagined his family’s cat, Binx, would turn into a backyard superhero. It was just an ordinary day until the surveillance camera caught an unexpected moment that would leave Lane speechless.
Their sweet six-year-old dog Oakley was enjoying her usual time outside when danger suddenly pounced. Out of nowhere, two coyotes appeared, and before she knew it, they were upon her.
These vicious coyotes brutally attacked Oakley, and she got trapped with no escape in sight. But little did anyone know, her guardian angel was keeping a watchful eye over her.
Binx was perched comfortably on outdoor furniture, soaking in the day when she noticed Oakley in peril. Without a second thought, this unassuming cat transformed into a fearless protector.
In a flash, Binx sprang into action and darted toward the coyotes. Her presence alone was enough to spook the predators, sending them fleeing back into the wild.
Shaken but seizing her chance, Oakley bolted back into the safety of the house.
Remarkably, the family’s other two big dogs were also outside during the attack, but it was Binx, the smallest of them all, who bravely stepped in and saved Oakley’s life. Lane could hardly believe his eyes, sharing in a YouTube video:
“She jumped down and scared them off. It was the craziest thing ever.”
But the danger wasn’t entirely over. Oakley’s injuries were severe – deep gashes on her chest and side that left her bleeding heavily. Lane and his family rushed her to the vet, fearing the worst as they anxiously awaited news on their beloved pet’s fate.
As the vet examined Oakley, it became clear how serious the situation was. The wounds were deep, and at one point, the possibility of amputating one of her legs was considered.
But Oakley, much like her feline savior, proved to be tougher than she looked. Against all odds, her leg began to heal, and the Dyers breathed a sigh of relief.
The bond between Oakley and Binx seemed stronger than ever – a friendship forged in the heat of a life-threatening battle. Lane couldn’t help but share his gratitude for Binx’s bravery, sharing:
“It was inspiring to see just our little outdoor cat jump at two coyotes that were attacking this little dog who she loves and run them off.”
As news of Binx’s heroics spread, so did the love and admiration for her across social media. People everywhere couldn’t get enough of the story of the small but mighty cat who took on two coyotes to save her canine friend.
Viewers couldn’t stop praising Binx on YouTube as well, where one person wrote:
“Never take a cat for granted….they are amazing animals! Good thing that this dog had her cat companion save her from the coyotes. What a CAT!! Thank you for sharing!!”
Indeed, Binx’s courage had captured the hearts of so many, turning her into a true internet sensation.
It’s not every day you see a cat save a dog from coyotes, and thanks to Binx’s fearless heart, Oakley has another chance to play in the backyard with her trusty feline guardian keeping a watchful eye.
