Arizona Tortoise Set Out On An Adventure To Explore The World Gets Trapped On Perilous Highway

Sharing is caring!

Tortoises, huh? Can they actually be a bit naughty? We usually think of them as slow and calm animals, just happy to eat plants and enjoy the sunshine.

But take Stitch, a tortoise from Arizona, for example. He proves that even the chillest reptiles can be up for some fun and excitement!

Stitch went on a three-mile journey across the desert, which led him to the dangerous Interstate 10.

Luckily, Stitch’s story didn’t end badly. A worried driver saw him trying to cross the road and called for help.

Soon enough, Sgt. Steven Sekrecki from the Arizona Department of Public Safety came to the rescue, and with the driver’s help, they got Stitch off the highway safely.

While checking him out, Sekrecki found a name carved into his shell: “Stitch.” Curious, he reached out to local farms and ranches to find out who owned the tortoise.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long to find Stitch’s home. The ostrich ranch just three miles away confirmed that Stitch was one of their own.

As it turned out, he had squeezed through a small opening in his enclosure and set off on an unexpected adventure. I guess he just wanted to see the world, right?

The ranch staff felt a huge sense of relief when they finally found their lost tortoise, Stitch, and they hurriedly took him back to his home in the enclosure.

This whole event reminded everyone how important it is to keep animal enclosures locked up tight, especially for creatures like tortoises that can move faster than you might think.

So, Stitch had quite the journey through Arizona! Luckily, even though there were dangers on the road, he made it back home safe and sound.

I think this is a story that everyone will remember for a long time, but he was really lucky that someone came to his rescue. I really hope he doesn’t decide to run away again, okay?
