Every day, animal shelters are becoming increasingly overcrowded. The same thing happened at the Wayside Waifs animal shelter in Kansas City, Missouri.
Because of that, the shelter staff came up with a perfect idea to help many shelter animals find their happily ever after. But, of all the dogs, one pit bull was left behind, not knowing what he had done wrong.
The Wayside Waifs animal shelter decided to host a large-scale adoption event with one goal in mind – to help many shelter animals find loving homes.
This idea proved successful, with a total of 203 animals getting adopted. However, at the end of the event, the shelter staff were heartbroken to realize the sad truth.
Of all the animals, there was one dog left behind without a home. The pit bull terrier mix named Kenny, who had the saddest eyes, was sitting alone at the shelter not knowing where everyone went.
No one knew why was Kenny left behind. He was a two-year-old dog who arrived from a Louisiana shelter. The shelter staff adored him as he had so much love to give.
Knowing Kenny was a happy and lovely dog, the shelter staff refused to give up on him. They focused on finding him a loving home, hoping their efforts would pay off.
The shelter staff instantly shared a detailed profile of Kenny on their Facebook page, including a description of what he loves doing the most.
They highlighted how much Kenny loves belly rubs, and long walks in the park, but also how he can entertain himself with toys.
Moreover, the shelter pointed out that Kenny is an energetic dog, which may not be suitable for small homes, especially with young children.
Along with the description, the shelter shared the saddest photo you’ll ever see – Kenny standing all alone at the shelter that tugs at your heartstrings.
The staff shared a detailed description, hoping that potential adopters would realize what a good boy Kenny is and that he would end up in the right hands.
Thankfully, the shelter’s efforts paid off. A few days later, the post did the trick, and Kenny found his forever home.
A woman came across Kenny’s photo and instantly fell in love with him. Reading his detailed description, she realized they would get along perfectly. When the two met, it was love at first sight.
