If you’re a bird parent, you’re well aware of the mischievous nature these little feathered babies have.
When I adopted my first parrot, the shelter staff told me it’s like having a toddler with wings – and they were right!
If you look away for just one second, they will manage to get themselves into some trouble. However, every bird owner’s true nightmare is their little feathered baby flying away.
Parrots and parrakeets who are born and raised in captivity, won’t survive on their own in the wild.
The fisherman from today’s story was well aware of this fact and he quickly assisted a tiny bird in need.
While the man was 10 miles offshore, getting ready for another day of fishing, an unusual little guy paid him a visit just minutes after he stopped his boat.
A cockatiel bird landed on his boat, almost as if he was asking for help. The fisherman was stunned as the bird perched on his vessel!
These adorable birds are popular pets, and seeing one flying out and about isn’t common. The man knew it must have flown away from home and was in desperate need of help.
The kind fisherman gave him water and immediately packed up his gear, ready to bring the little guy to the closest animal shelter.
The shelter staff immediately assessed the little guy who seemed to be healthy and with no visible injuries! Naming him Heihei after a Disney character, the shelter staff tried to find his owner.
Sadly, after numerous missing posts, his owner never reached out. The shelter decided to rehome Heihei, and shortly after, they found him a loving forever home!
Thanks to the kind fisherman, Heihei was safe and sound in a new home! Hopefully, this little guy will stay away from open windows!
