When she got closer, she realized the awful truth. The dog’s head was swollen because of a tight chain around his neck.
The volunteer couldn’t just leave the dog suffering, so she convinced him to come into her car with the promise of food. Chunk seemed surprisingly calm, maybe because he was used to his situation.
Still, it was obvious that he needed to see a vet right away. At the vet, they confirmed the shocking truth about Chunk’s condition.
Luckily, it wasn’t too late to help him. With time and the right care, Chunk got better really quickly.
As he got better, his true personality started to show. He used to be shy, but he slowly became a playful and loving friend. The volunteer spent a lot of time helping him get over his trauma and learn to trust again.
Finding Chunk his forever home was the next step. It was tough, but the rescue team was set on finding him the best family.
Luckily, their hard work paid off, and Chunk eventually found his happy ending. Now, he’s having the time of his life, and I just love it!
